Cocoon Room
Age Range: 2yrs 8mnths- 3.5 yrs
Ratio: 1:11 Session: 9am-12:00pm

Welcome to our Junior Pre-school Room. At this time your child will be gently introduced to a more structured school environment taken at their own pace. Children adapt and become used to sitting on a chair at a table and to concentrating for longer periods of time. We understand that all children develop at different stages and our Junior pre-school class room structure allows our dedicated carer's to access how each and every child in our care is managing the different tasks set. We promote independence from this age in the form of toileting independently, encouraging putting on/taking off and zipping items of clothing, these are all skills they will need when its time to go to school. Children receive lots of encouragement and praise during these processes.
Through observation, each staff member gains an in depth understanding of each child’s strengths, personality, interests and individual needs and can plan activities accordingly for each child. Many of the activities are designed to develop fine and gross motor skills, language, imagination, emotional and social awareness and are presented to all the children in a fun and play oriented manner. Our highly trained and experienced practitioners ensure that each child develops an early love of learning through our activities and resources.

Butterfly Room
Age Range: 3-5yrs
Ratio: 1:11 / 1:8
Welcome to our Butterfly Room this is the room where children choose their work from among self correcting materials displayed on open shelves in specific work areas where the child will enjoy both a structured and free play based curriculum. They will be encouraged to participate in all the activities the room has to offer, such as: art and craft, messy play, cookery etc. as well as outdoor play.
ECCE is a comprehensive educational approach based on the observation of children’s needs; it invites children to engage in learning activities of their own individual choice. Under the guidance of a fully trained teacher children in Early Childhood Education will learn by making discoveries with materials, such as cultivating concentration, motivation, self discipline and develop a love of learning. Children in this room will create bonds and make friendships that will last all the way through school while gaining confidence in their abilities as active learners in their environment.
On completion of the ECCE term (September to June) Children will partake in a graduation ceremony with singing and action songs that they put on for their parents/guardians. There is always great anticipation and excitement leading up to the Graduation Ceremony and parents and teachers are so proud when their children special T-shirts and receive their Graduation Certificate and make a leap towards “big school”.
