About Us
The Purpose of St. Sheelan’s Community Childcare Service is to provide quality, affordable early education to children from 8 months to 5 years, in the local community. It is a community service and is classified as a full-day care/sessional and part-time service under the Childcare Act 1991 ( Early years Services) Regulations 2016. We are open for 50 weeks per year from September 1st - September 30th. We can cater for 60 children at any one time. We have the following:
o Toddler Room Honey Pot- subject to numbers with max 12 children per year
oWobbler Room Bumble Bee- with max 10 children per year
oToddler Room- Caterpillar- with max 12 children per year
oPreschool Junior Room- Cocoon with max 11 per year, during ECCE time
oPreschool Senior Room- Butterfly with max 19 per year, during ECCE Time and 16 per year after ECCE time.
Core Work Aims
At St. Sheelan’s we aspire s to provide a high quality childcare environment that promotes the development of each individual child and supports each child to reach his/her potential.
The “Aims” of St. Sheelan’s Childcare Centre are outlined as follows:

To provide an affordable, accessible, high quality and safe childcare provision for the locality of St Sheelan’s Childcare Centre and surrounding areas.

We endeavor to promote to following as the goals of St Sheelan’s Childcare Centre:

·To offer a safe, secure and loving environment for all children attending the Crèche.
·To supply an educational and stimulating environment which encourages all children to fulfill their potential in learning through a play based curriculum.
·To embrace and value all children regardless of their race, gender, age, language, disability, culture, nationality, class or religion.
·To understand and appreciate the uniqueness of each child and treat them as individuals.
·To always remain respectful of the fact that all Parents / Carers are their child’s primary educator and care giver.
·To build good relations with all Parents / Carers.
·To build good relations with all agencies involved with the Service
Collective Responsibility
St. Sheelan’s Community Childcare Services Ltd Board of Directors is a collective decision-making body, acting in an oversight capacity for the best interests of the organization. This means that as a member you are bound by the collective decision take and must support it, even when you voted against it. If you disagree with a decision, you can only remove yourself from the responsibility for it, by resigning from the Board. Unless otherwise stated by the Board, you cannot act independently.

Charity Regulator
St Sheelans has been actively working towards full complaince with the Charity regulator and governance code. We hired
in an external company to help us reach compliance in September 2022 and it is now near completion.

Our Centre
ESTABLISHED: 2003
St Sheelan's Childcare Centre is a community childcare facility based in Templemore Co. Tipperary with Charitable status.The Centre is purpose built to provide a fun educational and stimulating environment for all children. We are registered with TUSLA the child and family agency and are funded by POBAL. Our Building is located behind Templemore College of Further Education. The Building has 5 Care rooms and a spacious outdoor play area. We have Supervised sleep area's, children's toilets and a Haccp approved kitchen where children receive home cooked meals daily. We provide affordable quality childcare to Templemore and the surrounding Area's.
Several of our staff have been with us for over 14 years and make up a caring, enthusiastic and experienced team.
We endeavor to give each child the chance to shine and develop at their own pace through fun, child led, stimulating activities. We want our parents to feel that their children are safe, secure and enjoying their time in our Service.
Early Years are the most important years for young children in terms of Physical, Social, Emotional, Intellectual, Language and Holistic Development. We strive to ensure all children feel happy and secure whilst attending our service.

Our Fees
The National Childcare Scheme was introduced for all parents regardless of income in October 2019. To avail of funding parents must first register with myGov.ie and also have a Public Services Card. More details are available on the National Childcare Scheme website www.ncs.gov.ie.
The fees charged to parents are based on whether a parent is entitled to a subsidy through any of the government schemes.
Full day care costs €31.00 per full day for children over 1 year and €36.00 per full day for children under 1 year old.
Part time cost €22.60 per half day (less than 5 hours) for children over 1 year and €28.00 per half day for children under 1 year. Sessional is €12.90 per 3hours
